This poll is what I'm going to base the decision of the private forum on...so vote seriously on it and please don't use more than one ID to pad your idea.
The options are pretty simple: It shouldn't be made at all It should be made, available to people with a certain number of posts or It should be made, available to people who have been registered for a certain amount of time (probably one month) Personally, I think that it definitely should be made. The reasoning is that a lot of the content posted on nubblies needs to be censored to a point in the case that those who are mentioned could come in and view it. The main case of this is the ever so popular "Teachers I'd like to fuck" thread. If a special forum was dedicated to those who had clearly pledged their allegiance to Nubblies, the things allowed in that forum would be much less strictly moderated. Because of its main purpose, I think that basing access upon a date registered is not a very effective idea. This is because a person could very easily show that they are loyal to nubblies in less than a month (a month would be the least period of time...because the "date registered" doesn't show specific days). On that same token, I can see why some people do not think that the post number is a good idea. Some folks says that good members simply do not post as much as others...and basing it on post quantity could have an adverse effect on post quality. I see this as reasonable and, because of that, I think that the number of posts necessary should be relatively low. Go ahead and vote and let your opinion speak. If you feel a need to justify your vote, either use the comment or this thread. Thanks for your input, it's truly appreciated. On a sidenote, please take into consideration that this forum is simply to keep certain material away from certain people. It is not to form a certain "Elite" group of Nubblies.com members who get to see special content. While this forum will have less moderation (or maybe I should say that the rest of the board will have more moderation...meaning that real names of people close to us would be prohibited <even the hottest girl thread would be moved to the private forum> ), it still will have the same rules about mentioning real names of people. Perhaps if this goes well, there could be a special board only for people with a ton of posts. That board would be for the "Elite Nubbliers" or whatever. It would have basically no rules regarding names (with the exception of tying a name to a nubblies.com member). We aren't going to have that until this is going well though... why not simply pick a select few, let them in, then let those few, including yourself, decide together when and who is in next? I agree with your logic and see how if someone wanted to get in, they could get around any of it. this way, there is no set way to do it and it'll keep people who everyone thinks shouldn't be trusted out. personally, I would start with letting the ones who have been here since feb in.

Alright, well that seems to be agreed upon...so I guess that's how it'll be. It sounds like a solid idea to me. Before I actually make it, we have to work out the details. The only real question that I can think of is how many people a week to we nominate/allow to join?
The automatic entried will be anyone who has a registered date of March or previous. That would include any person who registered before the dark period. (except for a member named "G"...that person registered sometime right after the dark period began...but left no info and has posted nothing, so they'll not be included). On a sidenote: This idea basically is a mixture of the "Nubblies Elite" forum and the simple forum made to secure certain posts from people who should not see them. For that reason, the forum will act as the Elite Forum (since you have to be voted in) and, at the same time, as the "make sure you aren't someone who shouldn't see the shit in here" forum (since, eventually, most people should be allowed entrance). Also, since being voted in is key, this should have the opposite effect on posting in the rest of nubblies than the post count idea. Instead of going for a ton of shitty posts, now users will try to impress the Elite with their skills . God bless Nubblies.[This message has been edited by Orgazmo (edited November 10, 2002).] |

This is my view of the original core of the "Elite". It will be composed of all members who registered on or before March and have at least 20 posts. This will keep people who joined in february, posted once, and forgot about Nubblies from coming back and having more privileges than those who have made 100+ posts in the past month in a half...

New Forum is up...
If you think you should have access (Registered in March or before and have 20 or more posts), but do not...talk to me. Otherwise, wait patiently and post quality shit. The Elite will vote in new members periodically...so you'll probably get in sometime, depending on what The Elite think of you That doesn't mean you have to kiss ass...it just means post good shit and you'll get in sooner rather than later. |

Make sure you don't make bring new members in mandatory, don't be like 'well, i guess we need to get someone this week just cause we haven't..." thats how you make the elite forum suck, you have to make sure to keep people outside of it, otherwise people who aren't in the elite, will either get in (and soon everyone will be in) or they'll stop coming... i'm saying this and i'm not even a part of the elite forum, just keep it elite enough to keep having the forum there worthwhile, and not killing nubblies...

I was wondering how man people get voted into the Elite forum and how often you vote. Also, will you just email or notify the person when they are voted into the Elite forum?

I'm going to join the club praising this idea. I've been thinking about the fact that we really can't discuss alot of topics here because of the possibility of serious repercussions.
It's funny, Nubblies 'Elite" sounds like a nice little upgrade program. |

forgive me, i'm a fucking retard
I was responding to Combat Chuck's post, I should have clarified that. Yeah, having an elite forum would not be a bad idea, considering that you could test "loyalty" that way... |

I don't believe there is anything wrong with being a fucking retard, and now i understand your first post. However, there are still rules on the nubblies message board. These rules are simply to keep people from feeling bad about themselves, killing themselves, killing other people, etc. Everyone knows, that if certain names were mentioned pertaining to certain subjects, then the above consequences could possibly take place. However, in the elite forum, there will be, or are, virtually no rules restricting names, because only certain people are allowd in the elite forum, to protect the rest of the world.
