I'm scared of bodies of water which I can't see the bottom of. So basically any pond, lake, river, canal, marsh, swamp or ocean...scare the shit out of me.

im terrified of small places or big packed crowds also known as claustrophpbia. my parents think it had something to do with my big sister shoving me in boxes and closets when i was a little kid and leaving me stuck in there for hours.

Deep water, I can't swim because I was terrified when I was younger to get into the lake past the kiddie section. I can't stand riding on boats either because I always think I'm going to fall off. For an example how scared I was, when I was in first grade there was a picture in a book I was reading that showed a really deep lpart of the ocean and I was scared of it, I wouldn't even look at the picture. Yeah, I'm a pussy.

I am completly and absolutly terrified of spiders and alot of other types of insects. They just move soo fast like they could just run up to me and bite me or whatnot. I live near a lake and I am terrified of seaweed.... just the feeling that it could tangle me up and pull me down to my death gives me the creeps. Not to mention it is WAY too slimy for my tastes.

Reuters - A recent study by Cambridge University has determined that Iraq is home to huge fucking spiders. Okay, sorry Mr. Blonde, there was no story. Just that picture. I'll try to find some scientific info on what these monstrosities are. [ April 13, 2004, 07:02 PM: Message edited by: Elegy ]

Ok, those nightmarish creatures are known as
Goliath Spiders apparently. The websites I have found say they are the largest spiders in the world (God, I hope so) but it says they are indigenous to the Rain Forest (not Iraq). It also says they the world record one had a leg span of 11 inches, but those two look much larger. So, I really don't know I guess. The best hypothesis that I can come up with is that they were mutant Goliath spiders on vacation. |

2. that's not a goliath spider 3. that isn't a spider at all, it's a solifugae The creatures in the picture are called a 'camel spiders', 'sun scorpions', or 'wind scorpions. They are non-venomous, but are among the fastest arthropods with the ability to reach 10mph. here's a video of one eating a scorpion.

Shit...that spider picture freaked me out. I was squinting really close to read some of these notes, scrolled down, and Ta-da!!! Big eight legged thingy in my face. Thanks.
So ya, I hate spiders. I had one in the shower this morning. The little bastard scuttled away before I could squish him with shampoo. As for my other phobias? Dude, crabs. I mean, really, who runs sideways? I'm also terrified of tornados. So if a giant, man eating spider and a crab come after me riding a tornado????? I'm f***ed. |

I only said that it was a spider because that was what Newsfilter said it was. I tried to figure out what it was, jumped to conclusions, and was wrong.

Wellllllll let's see here. I can't think of any really big ones off the top of my head. I shoot my mouth off far too often, and get yelled at for that... but... that doesn't phase me. Got no problems singing in front of people... scratch THAT one off the list...
I guess if anything I'm a bit claustraphobic. Like a lot. But, somehow I always put myself in stupid situations that welcome claustraphobia. For example, when I climbed into a cardboard box at a party just to "prove that I could fit." The lid was promptly shut and I was sat upon... I started to panic... I don't want to talk about it. |
