please follow the simple steps outlined below to drain the money out of a truly fucked up organiztion and gain free stuff in the process.
1. Go to www.family.org and you will see their home page. 2. Once you're at the home page, look for the "Resources" link in the blue bar on the left-hand side, right above the "Search" box, and click it. 3. Under the "Resource Category" menu on the left-hand side, you'll notice categories such as "Homosexuality." Go ahead and click that for shits and giggles. 4. It's time to start shopping! Scroll down a little bit and feel the homophobia flow. How about a nice copy of A Parent's Guide to Preventing Homosexuality? Go ahead and click the "Add to Cart" button. 5. Now comes a tough decision: Do you have the book sent to yourself so you can sell it on eBay for cash (my personal favorite) or do you keep it on your mantel as a high-larious conversation piece to point at and laugh when your friends and family come over? Or do you send it to a jerk? I always opt for sending it to myself. Yes, you may end up on the Focus on the Family mailing list (though I've been doing this for some time and have never received anything beyond what I ordered), but reading Focus on the Family's junk mail is a good way to keep tabs on their activities and it will cost them even more money in postage. Please note: Focus on the Family won't send you more than $100 worth of materials for free in any given shopping trip, so be sure to keep it reasonable and return often. 6. Select "Add New Shipping Address" and click "Proceed to Checkout." Or, hell, continue to shop and pick up a box set of The Chronicles of Narnia on CD. 7. The next screen will ask you to sign up for an account and give your information. Don't worry, they don't ask for your credit-card number. Enter whatever name and address you like, because you won't be paying. You might want to make up a phone number, too. 8. Once you've filled out all the required fields (you can also create a fake e-mail account if you're super paranoid), click "Proceed to Checkout" one more time. You'll now find yourself at the "Here Is Your Cart" field. Annoying thing alert: You may have to reenter your info again after this field to actually set up your account. But just keep going until you get to the "How Much Would You Like to Donate?" page. 9. So, how much would you like to donate? Zero dollars, obviously. Don't be fooled by the field in the lower-right-hand corner that shows you the suggested donation amounts. Simply select "Enter other total amount" and enter 0.00 as the amount you would like to pay. (Don't put in a dollar sign or it will ask you for credit-card information!) Proceed to checkout. 10. You'll now be led to a screen that will try to make you feel guilty about the amount you haven't donated. But don't feel bad! Just proceed to checkout again. 11. Jesus! Here you are on the twelfth step and you still don't have your self-hatred materials! And you thought preventing homosexuality was supposed to be easy! Click "Checkout Now" and you're done. Congratulations! |

Psychedelics are illegal not because a loving government is concerned that you may jump out of a third story window. Psychedelics are illegal because they dissolve opinion structures and culturally laid down models of behavior and information processing.

Repug,
How is hating brown people anymore efficient or fair than hating extremist Christians? The reasons the brown people want to blow us up are all religion based. This world would be a much more safer place to live if people weren't stupid enough to buy into religion. (Actually you could argue it would be a much more dangerous place to live since religion gives people's lives meaning). Tell me if I'm wrong though that; on the whole, athiests and agnostics (relative to their population representation in the world) are responsible for far fewer wars and conflicts than the Christians. |

Also, how are we defining a Christian? Are we talking about somebody who is a Christian based on their actions and whether or not those actions are considered "good" by the new testament standards, or a Christian based on they say they're a Christian? I mean I could sit here and tell you I'm a serial killer. I could go to serial killer conventions and hang serial killer posters on my wall, but unless I'm actually out killing people on a regular basis I'm not really a serial killer I'm a poser. From my understanding your labeling of "extreme" Christians seems to be the very rigid types who on top of that are very judgemental and look down on others. But of course one of the main teachings of Jesus was to not judge others, and to love your enemy and treat your neighbor as you would like to be treated...So I suppose they're just posers too. As far as your war question though, I think you're living in the past. While Christianity has (sadly) been used to wage wars this was all a long time ago, back in a day of age when people were still somewhat barbaric in my opinion. Now-a-days I don't think there are very many "real" Christians left, but the ones who I think you're talking about hating are more of an annoyance than anything else, whereas the "brown people" as you refer to them, the "extreme" kind are not just an annoyance, they're a danger to your life. I mean really, do you want to hate on a republican bigot who hates faggots, or a Allah chanting Islamic militant who screams death to America and is all for capturing and beheading innocent people? While one is annoying and ignorant the other is downright dangerous, and if given the chance would either convert your ass or saw your head off. You can live with one, you can't with the other. Therefore I say the latter is more deserving of your hate, hate which I still discourage. ...Would the world be safer without religion? Sadly yes. Smart and immoral) men manipulate dumb men with religion. But I don't believe it's religion that's the problem, it's man. I don't believe the world would see any less violence if everyone was athiest or agnostic, man would just find another tool to use against his peers. Frankly MOST governments are secular these days and there is still plenty of fighting. | |

That's one example, but a weak argument in my opinion for several reasons:
1. I said most Governments are secular, not leaders. The president is a president, not a dictator. Our governments policy is shaped by by thousands of people not just 1 man. 2. Our government is hypothetically a representation of the majority of its people. If the PEOPLE are voting for canidates who's religious beliefs effect their policy that is no fault of the leader but of the voters. 3. It's ludacris for an American administration to be compared to a middle eastern administration in terms of religion. People would flip their shit of Bush came out and said something like "God hates Israel therefore we should destroy it." I really think people are just bored in this country. Our country is FAR from perfect, I mean shit...But come on. Our leaders, businesses, whatever...They do something wrong and suddenly it's the end of the F'ing world. LOOK AROUND people! Tell me other countries don't have it 10 times as bad. Tell me America isn't in the top of the class. Go over to China and see how things are for a few weeks. That is a purely anti religious government and if their people say something bad about it the government beats the shit out of them and throws them in jail. Go to fucking Iran where stoning someone to death for losing their virginity too early is a considered ok. Go to Mexico, where it's so shitty their people risk their lives to come HERE. Another thing that pisses me off is when people go "Omg look what America is doing! They are acting in their own self interest and exploiting other countries for personal gain!".........News flash people! Governments aren't exactly moral. EVERY country acts in its own self interest. Personally I recognized the USA does some bad shit, but I'm much more comfortable with us running things right now than I am with a lot of the other contenders. ....I guess I kind of got a little off topic there...But, and no offense UB, people like you have been annoying me lately. It's like people think we have it soooo bad here. It's just like the Christianity thing....Maybe you should look around at what is going on outside of our borders and compare it to inside and suddenly it's not nearly as bad here anymore. /end rant. |
