HR 1207 (The Federal Transparency Act of 2009) now has 222 co-sponsors (majority of the house) and now just needs to be finalized in its committee before going to the floor. This is absolutely HUGE. Anybody with any knowledge of this country's financial situation knows how devastating the federal reserve is to our country. Passing this bill will force the Federal Reserve to prove they can back up all the money they've created and promised (which is impossible) and for the third time in American history, we can take our dollar AWAY from a massive private bank!

I just lost a ton of respect for you, GWB.
The federal reserve owns half of the US debt (around 5 trillion) and our interest each year to them is so great that is equates to every single dollar Americans pay in income taxes annually. But where did the federal reserve get all this money to start with? Nowhere. They just printed it out of thin air and threw it into circulation thus devaluing our dollar 96% since it's inception less than a century ago. There's your fucking Financial 101 lesson, you ignorant prick. |

I just hate people making such broad statements as "Anybody with any knowledge of this country's financial situation knows how devastating the federal reserve is to our country." You sound ignorant when you say this. The people at the Federal Reserve themselves know a lot more about this country's financial situation than you, but they have a differing oppinion. It's one thing to say that the Fed hurts America, it's a drastically different thing to say that EVERYBODY WHO HAS EVER DEALT IN FINANCE ACCEPTS THAT THE FED KILLS AMERICA. Stop making blanket statments.

Well then you should have worded it differently.
Because the GWBs of the world know the problems that our country faces, and a lot of them don't think the Fed is raping women and murdering children. It's very bad in principle, but in practice you and I get along just fine. So "devastating" might not be the right word. |

You and I have a problem if you think the Fed is less dangerous than the paltry number of women getting raped and children getting murdered.
If you're just being an antagonizer and playing the "women and children" card, then well-played. |

That's a pretty interesting bill f3lix, how long untill it's finalized? Do you predict much media coverage of it? Zeitgeist explains all this to laypersons like myself.
Question to anyone : Is economic growth the best indicator of progress? + to gwb, opinion on uk parties? I voted green, feel free to call me a pussy liberal (though I love the majority of their policies, just not the energy/lack of nuclear and their protect the animals shit) |

This bill (HR 1207) is being pushed VERY hard by voters and their endless calls to their representatives. The Federal Reserve just hired a P.R. person to try and dissuade co-sponsors, but none have removed their signature thus far. It's going to get VERY ugly as this bill gets closer and closer to passing. Without a doubt, fear mongering will be used and there will be claims that our money/economy will collapse without the federal reserve since those in power would be at risk of losing it. Things should get quite interesting in the coming weeks and months.

Update on HR 1207. It now has 267 co-sponsors (CLEAR majority in the House) and is up to 8 co-sponsors in the Senate. While the Senate might seem small, it was at 2 just 3 weeks ago. The pressure keeps building and the co-sponsors keep joining. I really like this.

Update:
HR 1207's Audit the Fed was polled. A Rassmussen Poll found 75% nationwide approve of auditing the fed, versus 9% saying no, and 15% no opinion. We are winning this battle. |

A real vote in the House won't come 'til the midterm elections, if it happens at all. If you're really so inclined, you can watch the video below of him discussing the bill, kinda. Not too promising.

There is such a thing on the House called a Discharge Petition that can be called at any time which brings a bill out to the floor to be debated and voted on with just a simple instant majority of the house. This was created to counter a committee head being the lone person stopping a bill from going to the floor. In addition, Pelosi couldn't stop it either.
Just think about this for a second... The committee chair doesn't want it to come out and the speaker of the house doesn't want it either, because it's anti-Obama Administration planning. But 2/3rds of the House overthrow those two and pass the bill at a rate that can't even be vetoed by Obama. This is REAL politicking. God help this happen! Odds? |
