Gentlemen and Bitches,

Because contests are fun and they inject content, we'll be holding some shit more regularly than before (as in...more than once a year). These contests will be held in a single elimination tournament style. The reward for winning a tournament will be a Golden N.

In all contests of this type, you will PM me your entry. Also, unless otherwise specified, each user will only be allowed one submission. This means one submission per human, not per account. I know who you are all.

After the deadline for the tournament, I will randomly pair all submissions up using random.org. The full bracket will then be posted along with polls for each pairing. All submissions will be anonymous to the voters. Only I will know the owners. As with submissions, votes are limited to one per human. All voting will be public and multiple votes from a single human via multiple accounts will be pointed out. Said human will be shamed.

Funny Video Elite
For this tournament, the goal will be to provide a link to a video that is funnier than all other provided videos. The video must be original to Nubblies. If the video is found to have been posted on Nubblies before your submission, you will be disqualified.

The contest's deadline is 11:59PM EST on 4/15/2010. Please have all PMs with your video to me by then.

I'll either use random.org or an actual bracket generator (I've found a few, haven't messed with them yet).

I've created the bracket.

To do this, I started with all of the URL's submitted in a list. I then went to random.org to generate a list of 1-10 in a random number. I sequentially gave these numbers to the URL's. Then I took the lit to Tournament Bracket Generator - CHALLONGE! to generate a random bracket of the randomly-numbered entries.

I have a master list of the owner of each entry. Outside of that list, it's all un-related and...random.

I'll be posting the 2 play-in matches now. They'll be live for 48 hours.

kind of unfortunate for those entries that have to go first, as they will be stale by the next round. I guess that's all we can ask for considering who designed the tournament.

Quit your bitching, all of you. The funniest video is this competition will come out ahead whether it needs a play-in to do it or not. Only a bunch of results oriented bitches would wait until after entries are no longer being accepted to gripe about play-in rounds.

I have been notified by a butthurt admin that my criticism should have been more constructive. I think a better solution would have been to randomly have a couple of the videos have a first round bye, and put those into a thread for viewing. Maybe even have them have a scrimmage where the votes didn't count.

In sports having a first round bye is a major advantage because even if you are a better team, there could be like a 30% chance you lose anyway. However, in a discrete media such as a video, every time you play the video it is the same. The best video will win, as long as exposure to all of the videos is equal.
