As did you. Consider me burned. It's just my opinion, I don't feel like it's worth spending my time on updating people on stuff when I already have facebook. I guess a big part of it is that I echo this sentiment: |

@StephenAtHome is Stephen Colbert's twitter handle. Today he's been ripping on Jon Kyl for claiming 90% of Planned Parenthood patients get abortions. Kyl's office issued a statement saying Kyl's statement was "not intended to be a factual statement." So, Colbert has been tweeting things like "Jon Kyl calls all Asians "Neil" no matter what their name is" and "Jon Kyl was the CEO of Enron when they took all those people's pension money" and following them with the hashtag #NotIntendedToBeAFactualStatement. He's been tweeting new ones like every 10 minutes. Pretty funny. What's even funnier is that the "tweet tirade" is now news in and of itself.

Did you factor in people that don't have internet? How about the people that don't even have electricity. I'm going to say that the people that have access to it, the majority of them have Twitter accounts. Get on black ops and see how much of the world is in black on that map. It shows you how much of the world is still without the internet. Can you fit that knowledge into your bubble, Blonde?

I don't give a fuck what those charts say, I'm right. You can't believe everything that you read on the net. I stick to my story.

Individually they may not be hilarious or even slightly funny. However, the whole premise of a nonstop onslaught of ridiculous, non-sensical assertions intending to ridicule a politician continuing for the majority of a day, available to millions of people, is hilarious and imo kind of a game changer in terms of how the media affects politics. How many google searches for "Jon Kyl" were there yesterday?

I found my loophole. Is Twitter blocked in China? Put that in your corn cob pipe and smoke it.
Edit: China Blocks Twitter (And Almost Everything Else) Is there a list of countries that block Twitter? - Quora You want sources? Want me to really get into some research here? Does the 1.3 BILLION people of china, or the 8.2 Million people of the UAE factor into these numbers? I've just touched the surface. Would you like me to go further, or do all of you want to wave that white flag yet? |

LOL.
There will be no white flag. There's no way you can convince me that over 50% of internet users who are legally allowed to use Twitter use Twitter. |

So here are the stats. Your 2 billion people is off due to the fact that twitter is banned to 1.6 billion people. Obviously, in China alone, it's banned for use by 1.3 billion. So if my figures are right, that means 400,000,000 people are able to get on and use a twitter acount. What is half that you say? 200,000,000 which is the users that are on twitter.

Asia has the biggest population, thus the highest percentage of people on the internet. Cut that by the 1.3 million people of China, and that's nearly half of the Asian population. I'm pretty sure it's banned in North Korea, but the internet as a whole might be.

In order for us to get a true reading, we really need to be using the same source, along with newer stats in regards to internet users. I can tell you the 1.3 billion people in China are pretty much going to bury a ton of people in your side of the arguement.

I'm rooting for Shaw here. That being said, the number of internet users I'm seeing for China is about 130 million. You're subtracting their entire population as if the vast amounts of orphaned girls and oppressed people living in rural areas are surfing netz and their gov't just won't let them tweet about the inequality.
