Psychedelics are illegal not because a loving government is concerned that you may jump out of a third story window. Psychedelics are illegal because they dissolve opinion structures and culturally laid down models of behavior and information processing.

I think the heart of religion, the essence of religion that makes it so great and appealing, is positive thinking.
But positive thinking by itself is pretty hard to do since this world can be such a shithole, so people have religion to help focus their minds on positivity. Positive thoughts can make all the difference in the world. Not just in how you feel, but how others perceive you and even how well your day goes. It's really powerful shit. That's why this year I was resolutionless until now. This year I'm going to be positive and not dwell on negative shit. |

Thinking positive is a great ste, and I think it will help you achieve a lot better peace of mind. Good luck!
I would also recommend meditation, but one step at a time, I suppose. |

Changing thought patterns and processes is really difficult to do. Mainly because we think constantly and involuntary. I feel like right now, getting inside my head even more than I usually am could cause me to regress. For starters, I think getting out of my head is the best course. Focus on other people. Behave like an extrovert.

lol.
I wish. Intellectually in-general, the BBC blows US network television out of the fucking water. Colbert and Stewart are, sadly, about the only good thing we've got, but I also don't have cable so I'm not the authority here. But we do have great TV series, I guess. Our news programs can be okay from time to time, every once in a while we get some decent journalism, even Stewart/Colbert is obviously heavily biased but it's at least funny, informative, and willing to cross lines (under the shield of humor) that network programming cant or won't. Watching the show now. Cannot believe this is still even a fucking issue in 2013. |

But I disagree with your notion. The fact that we don't have such intellectual programming is very telling of our nation and the people within it. Dent asked a question, and I answered it. You provided nothing of value to the discussion whatsoever. | |
