What musical artists would you like to see join together for a project? Not neccesarily for a whole album, but just to turn out a song or two?

I've always really wanted to see Incubus and the Red Hot Chili Peppers get together. Both bands have deep roots in funk music and play awesome rock. Moreso though, the meshing of the two bands works perfectly.

Kiedis can do the quicker, raping parts while Boyd holds notes and goes more of a singing route.
Frusciante is a lead-based guitarist. He is used to playing this which are more developed to individual riffs. This is juxdaposed by Einziger, which is more of a glorified rhythm guitarist.
Flea is just the best bassist in the world and could simply be a brilliant addition to any band. Kenney will be able to funk it up with him.
DJ Kilmore will fit, as RCHP doesn't have a dj.
Chad Smith can run the drums while Pasillo can do more of the percussion thing, which he often does anyways.

Yeah, so I'd like to see them together.

You don't have to give such a detailed explanation, just say who'd you like to see together.

That's what we like to hear.

But in all seriousness, that's a good idea with incubus & rhcp right there. I'd like to see Dave Matthews and Ben Harper do something, that could be super-mega badass.

A Thousand Seasons and Ingsoc, oh wait... no.

I hope you can name bands that aren't together anymore.
The Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana

Though it may seem retarded I think it could have spawned something amazing.

TOOL + APC

HAHAHAHA!! LOL!!!111 THAT WOULD BE AWSUM WTF??? LOL@@!!

Just kidding.

I'd really love to see someone like Fiona Apple get together with Orbital. You know Fiona Apple, the sultry singer with insane amounts of vocal talent. You don't know Orbital, they're a British progressive/experimental electronic group who makes beautiful music and often times use female vocals. God, Fiona's vocals on top of Orbital's instrumentation... it would be heavenly.

I do what the fuck I want.

Jimi Hendrix and The Mars Volta.

While the span and style of music is different, together I believe they could make some of the most trippy but yet brilliant music. If only vomit hadn't reared it's ugly head oh so long ago...

With a cherry on top.

I think that Radiohead and Sigur Ros would be a fucking awesome collaboration.

And the cool thing is, they both did a totally improvised performance for a New York modern dance company not long ago. They didn't play together, but they just created on-the-spot music that was transformed into interpretation pieces by the dancers in the company.

That might be my dream job one day.

That would be pretty sweet Chuck.
I thought about Radiohead and Autechre... but the product of that would really just be a more fucked up version of Kid A. Sigur Ros is some good tunes. My vote still goes to Fiona + Orbital though.

Titan, while you might be correct about Radiohead and Autechre, who says that it wouldn't still be badass? It'd give something for all of the acid-takers in the world to listen to.

Titan... I've actually heard a little Orbital (where... I'm not quite sure), even though my knowledge of the goodness that is electronic music has still not gotten much past where it was when this thread was born.

Butcher, you are correct. Let's put both groups in a cage (you're in charge of getting that put together) and see what happens. Other than fucked up lovechildren....

...which is what their band name would be, natch.

Chuck, do you want the 4x4 foot model, or the deluxe 5x5 foot model? Because I have them both, but the closer the better is what I think...

I have a cat carrier cage, that might be the best bet if you want closeness.
