Not entirely true. I guess I'm not actually a Religious fanatic persay, but I am definatly religious and yes do in fact believe the bible to be a book of nonfiction. But I do not discredit The DaVinci Code. I am currently in the midst of it and will give it what it deserves. It is historically accurate in art history and thus far (in what I've read) religious history. I know thats not what the thread is about and I dont know where I stand on the whole issue. But I do know what I feel on the previous.

What section did you buy the DaVinci code in? Fiction, because thats what it is. If you want to actually learn something on the matter, theres thousands of good books written by people who are actually academically qualified to write them, unlike that trashy novel.

Hey I didnt say it wasnt fiction. The plot is. What I said is that the art history, and what I've read thus far the religious history is indeed factual. Argue with me about go ahead. But its true. The storyline isnt, yada yada, but what I said was true, is true.

To say that it is accurate with regards to art history is say that the person to the right of jesus in the last supper is Mary Magdalene instead of John, which when you look at the history of John throughout art, is a bit hard to swallow at best.

I agree with stem cell research to an extent. I agree with its use for the purpose of medically improving a health problem. But then, along with stem-cell research comes the idea of actual cloning of human beings. To me, the full cloning of a human is wrong. My only fear is that scientists will take stem-cell research to the next level. It's just the natural way of things. I am not Catholic, but I have heard that one of their signs of Armageddon is when the first child is born without a soul. No one can tell me that a child originating from a stem-cell is going to have a soul. Basically, stem-cell research and the use of stem-cells for repairing organs and such is fine, as long as we don't get too carried away and take it to another level.

What the fuck are you talking about? I'm not Catholic but signs of armageddon blah and souls blah blah. Stop contradicting yourself.

Who are you to decide who gets a soul and who doesn't anyway? It is common knowledge that the only people who don't have souls are asians and retards. But seriously. Womb or petri dish, a person is a person. Petri dish baby will not grow up to be one of the children of the corn or of the damned.

First of all, I never contradicted myself but okay. Second of all, a soul is not a physical part of a human being and can't be regenerated by scientists. So you tell me how a child that acts exactly like someone else and thinks exactly like someone else, as they do have the same genetic makeup, really could have a soul.

Identical twins share the same copy of DNA... does only 1 of them have a soul?

I really don't think genetic makeup is the only factor in how one thinks and acts; however, even if it were, wouldn't that just mean that the two people who think and act alike simply have copies of the same "soul"...rather than neither of them having a soul at all?

Do you actually think before you come up with stuff like this? To rehash what gaz and FC have already said, the way a child acts and thinks is at least equally and most like more affected by their environment than their genes. Identical twins have identical DNA. A cloned baby would be the same as an identical twin, just not concieved at the same time.
