I can testify that Fishers is nearly the most bland place in the greater Indianapolis area. I've never really seen anything interesting happening there, only heard of one robbery (man robbed a gas station then went across the street to rob the auto parts store next), and even God gets bored with it once in a while (he pummeled it with baseball sized hail a couple years ago).
There is one black kid that I know of ... he works at Little Caesars and does an exceptional job dancing around with the $5 pizza sign on the side of the road. |

Hmm...I don't see any black text, so I assume you're serious.
Size and population-wise, perhaps they are similar. Everything else wise? Certainly not. Compare: Economy Muncie, IN - Fishers, IN is a great resource to show this. Muncie's avg household income is $28k for Christ sake, about a third of Fishers. This is probably why the violent crime is 3x and property crime 6x in Muncie versus Fishers, perhaps caused by the unemployment rate being 50% higher in Muncie. I'm not in the business of saying Fishers is the best place in the world to live. I'm not here to put it on a pedestal at all. But saying it's like Muncie? A bold claim, sir. |

Clearly you missed the part where I said, "(on my side of the river)." My side of the river, which includes Yorktown, is an okay place.
Also, when you quote things like median income, you forget the difference in cost of living between the two geographic locations. Let's look at this link to see the main difference is the cost of housing, which is a huge difference. Also you forget that about 20,000 kids go to Muncie each year to get an education. While getting their education, it's highly unlikely that they're making >$15,000/year. I'm not in the business of saying Muncie is a great place to live. Clearly Fishers is more affluent and shit. There is only one place in Indiana that holds a special place in my heart. It used to be paradise. Over the last ten years, the mexicans have been taking over. |

Listen, I know the being around the college stuff in Muncie is fun. I had fun when I went to Ball State. But Muncie, your side of the river included, especially shitty Yorktown, and anything that isn't touching Ball State's campus is a terrible place.

Bottom line is the longer you stay in Muncie the more it wears down your perceptions and preconceived notions of respectability ... you are getting dangerously close to accepting it as a place to live; the only step after that is to die there.

Bloomington actually is a very nice place in Indiana.

Bloomington is probably the nicest place in Indiana, it feels much more modern and cosmopolitan than Indy. Broad Ripple comes kind of close to replicating the feel, but is far smaller and sometimes seems dead during the day.
Around Mass Ave in Indy is pretty cosmopolitan too, probably because it's the gay part of town. The actual downtown scene is better than it used to be, but it's still mediocre at best. West Lafeyette is a bunch of chains next to an industrial shithole. Greencastle is nice, but consists of frat houses, a pizza hut, and a rock. Don't get me wrong, Indy, including it's northern suburbs, isn't all that bad, but outside of sentimentality and a pretty small strip along the canal from Butler to Broadripple, there is really no way to tell what average midwestern town you happen to have woken up in. Oh, Syracuse and Lake Wawasee punches way above it's weight, but only for a few months, on the weekends, when the weather is nice. It is a nice concentration of wealth and real partying. Basically if Bloomington had an airport, and access to the damn interstate system, it would be better in just about every way than Indy. |

Broadripple (as of a couple years ago) has started trending more negrotastic, that might have turned back around as I dont ever go there anymore.

The only time there was an issue was during the fucking "Circle City Classic" when 2 black colleges play a football game at the Colt's stadium. Getting two large groups of black men from different cities, competing against each other, in a town they feel no ownership towards, with the addition of alcohol, leads to about 2 shootings a year, mostly around downtown.
