Finally the Cubs year in 2006? (Juan Pierre) - Nubblies.net Forums

While UB has predicted a Cubs World Series victory now the past 2 or 3 years I really believe in 2006 the Cubs will be one of the top teams in baseball and here is why:

Despite having their stellar pitching staff back the Cubs recently (today) just added a piece to the puzzle that has been missing since the Cubs became a competitve team again. Juan Pierre will now bat leadoff for the Cubs.

Who is Juan Pierre one might ask, well I can answer. He's a young leadoff man from Florida who stole 57 bases last year. His on base percentage was high and the guy is argueably the fastest man in baseball. The cubs now have a true leadoff hitter and a great CF this could allow Corey Patterson to move to RF which would fill that gap left by Jeromy Burnitz. If the Cubs could resign Nomar they truly would not have a weakness in the lineup other than LF which is argueable as well.

I can actually remember the last two years thinking to myself how good of a pickup Juan Pierre would be for the Cubs if they ever could get him. Now that they have its a shock and I fucking love it.

Anyone who is a cubs fan or watches baseball have something to add because I for one am fucking excited as hell.
