Ok, I really didn't want to unleash this upon Nubblies, but due to the constant pestering of the likes of Ugly Bastard when I mentioned it, I'm going to throw it out there.
What do my fellow Nubblites think about a Fitness Improvement contest? I offer no prize, other than just being the winner, but this contest is basically a contest with yourself anyways. The contest, roughly, would be something like this. 6-8 weeks long, you post preliminary sign pictures (your SN and date visible in the picture) of yourself, and start dieting and working out more in order to improve yourself physically. I currently am participating in one of these on another website that just officially started today. It would be a great tool for motivation, and at the end we could have a poll where Nubblites could vote on who improved the most over the duration of the contest. As I have said before, It doesnt matter where you are in your fitness category, because the contest is based off of comparison of improvement, not direct comparison with others. So...thoughts. |

Excellent. On top of you, the people I predict will want to do this are obviously UB and I, FC (pending the criticism which I'm sure is to come), Niger (he mentioned starting working out again the other day), 'Gaz (him and UB are usually in the gym), Ninja, Beebs....but more are more than welcome.

In..i needed something like this to get me started....i weighed myself monday and im at 220....when i left bethel my freshmen year of college i was a skinny 180 for my frame...i want to get down to at least 200 or so by the end of this 6-8 weeks...that is my goal!!

Ok. For those of you who want in the contest, I will make a thread for you in this Sports category after everybody is signed up in the contest. This will be your thread throughout the duration of the contest, which you can post updates and questions and whatnot. You should post your pictures as such.
Guys: compression shorts, boxer briefs, or if you're really insecure, athletic shorts. Girls: Sports bra and spandex short type things. Same goes for you if you're insecure. Picture 1: Relaxed group 1 standing facing cam 1 with back towards the cam 1 with each side facing cam I only muraled this because I exceeded the maximum amount of pictures per post. If you wish to make 2 posts with your pictures, that's fine, ore you can mural like this. Picture 2: Front double-bi ![]() Picture 3: Back double-bi ![]() Picture 4: Abs ![]() Picture 5: Crab/ Most muscular(flex whole front..arms, pecs, abs..) ![]() Picture 6: Legs ![]() Picture 7: Lat Spread ![]() If you have any questions regarding pictures, let me know. You also need to post your goals, stats (height, starting weight, body fat (if you know it) age...) ..as well as your diet, supplements you will be using (preferably no steroids, folks), but creatine and such are allowed. Also, post your workout, if you have one, including the cardio you plan on doing. This is mine, you can work off of this. GOALS Trying to gain as much lean muscle mass as I can, and get cut up to the point where I used to be, except obviously I'm striving for more. I should catch up really fast, so hopefully I can build and i'm going to shoot for at least 5-7 lbs of LMM by the end of the contest. STATS 21 years old 165-170 lbs 6'1" SUPPLEMENTS Multivitamin, Ginseng, Flax Seed oil, 2-3 protein shakes a day, 20 grams of creatine monohydrate for the next 3-4 days, then 5 g/ a day mixed either with gatorade or a protein shake. NO ANABOLICS STEROIDS DIET I recently (this past week) cut all pop and junk food and the like out of my diet for this contest. I am also going to attempt to give up on alcohol for the duration of the 8 weeks, but we'll see about that one. I try to eat at least 4-6 small meals a day, but I definitely focus around the big 3, breakfast lunch and dinner. Breakfast usually consists of a protein shake, and either protein mixed with oatmeal, or a few eggs, and some fruit. Usually I get a toaster streudel in there as well. Lunch I try to have either beef, tuna, or chicken as the main course with noodles or rice with a protein shake Dinner is usually the same as lunch, except I usually wait to drink the third protein shake until after whenever my workout for the day is. Then small meals in-between. CARDIO Running several miles 3 times a week, as well as rugby practice WORKOUT I usually work out 4 times a week, I may step it up to 5 because of the contest, however. Back Relaxed Front Double Bi Back Double Bi Abs Most Muscular Lat Spread Legs stats 20 years old 5'6" 175 pounds today supplements Protein powder routine Personally I focus my training around powerlifting, which consists of trying to lift as much weight as possible in squat, bench, and deadlift. Ive been playing around with my routine a little lately but as of right now it is: Monday : Squat workout: consisting of squats, and one or two assistant exercises such as good mornings, glute ham raises, box squats, and front squats. Tuesday : Bench workout (mostly buiding power off the chest on this day): normal flat bench followed by one or two of the following: paused bench, floor press, lockouts, dumbell bench, close grip, some sort of tricep exercise. I usually try and get a few lat exercises in on this day, such as low pulley row, pull ups, bent rows, one arm rows, pulldowns. If I do back I'll also throw in some bicep exercises such as hammer curls or straight bar curls. Wednesday : Rest Thursday : Deadlift workout: Regular deadlifts, sometimes heavy, sometimes for speed followed by a few of the following. Squats, Rack pulls (deadlifts in a power rack with the bar starting just below the knees) good mornings, box squats, glute ham raises, Cleans, Snatches, Shrugs. Thinking about doing Lats here too, same format as Tuesday Friday : Bench workout (mostly focusing on building lockout power): Basically the same as Tuesday, but more focus on partial lifts such as rack presses, floor presses, lockouts, and one or two tricep exercises. I did something like this for my own personal gratification during my senior year in high school. I ended up losing about 50 pounds in 7 months. I kept it off for a while, until I started looking too tiny.

BDH me and you gotta work on this together....FC I WILL LOSE MORE WEIGHT THEN YOU..all i have to do is stop drinkin beer which is much tougher then it sounds and jesus christ fellas ill put up a pic of my fat ass belly but thats it...believe me when i do the rest of the body is just as bad but i dont have time to be makin a portfolio

I know, I understand. thats great for you, but i already do an hour at the gym 2-4 times a week to stay in shape & so I can eat the foods I want. I really dont have time to dedicate to "improve" myself but seriously, good luck to all of you.
