i am up to my armpits in pit bulls. my apartment is basically a kennel. i make home decorating and improvement choices based on the accomodation of more pit bulls. help.

I wish I would have had my weapon on me about 2 months ago when some indian/mexi trash motherfucker's pitbull decided to attack me and bite the fuck outta my calve.

They can be awesome dogs, but since 90% of pitbull owners are trashy and don't train/take care of them properly,they get such a bad rap.

Funny you should bring this up. Went up to my half-sister and brother-in-law's in Green Bay this past weekend. They've got two pit bulls that my Mom has told me are basically the spawn of Satan. Like she has actually used the word "demon" when describing these dogs to me.

I get up there fully expecting the worst... and they turn out to be... I shit you not, the most well-behaved, enjoyable dogs I've ever been around. Told my Mom her word is no longer any good to me and went back to petting the pit bulls.

not nearly enough pit bull owners are responsible about owning them. I'm up to 3 right now - only one is mine, one id my gf's and one is a foster. if i knoew how to post pics on this shit site i would but i dont so just imagine 3 rad dogs.

English bull terrier's are better.. not that im biased, although I like American Bulldog's too.

i like staffys the best personally but thats just me. UB, i've found most old people are ridiculously discriminatory against pitbulls. Anybody over 40 HATES them pretty much. its ridiculous. the people on the board who have met my pit....mainly Snakeinthegrass and Sittinondubs can attest she is teh most well mannered, obedient dog ever...but also my roommate is a dog trainer. he didn't become one till like 6 months after we got her though.

Vaga - we think the foster has some Cane Corso in him up his pedigree. the area he comes from has a guy breeding them. you can get a purebred pit bull in just about any shelter for about $100.

Dent - the american pit bull terrier is recognized by the UKC, ADBA and AADR here in the states. Dogs that are registered with the AKC as american staffordshire terriers can be registered with the ukc as pit bull but not vice versa. The staffordshire bull terrier and bull terrier are separate breeds.

we didnt crop thier ears. both of those dogs were strays and had thier ears cropped already. i like the look on some dogs but i would never have it done myself.

This is bar-none the best dog I have ever had. My roommate is a dog trainer (I was going to buy her, but his dog died and I don't plan on sticking around long enough to own a dog), but wasn't when he got her; he majored in Psychology in college, which I know pretty much doesn't mean shit if you don't go for even higher education in that field, but he is VERY good with the psychology of animal behavior, and not in a pompous way, just very effective. Motherfucker is like that gay Cesar fuck, except not gay. As good of a trainer as he is, this dog really does have an amazing temperament. One thing that I have found very interesting since having her is purebred pitbulls natural ability to bite shit and not let go. Ever. I guess I always knew that dogs like this were bred for that sort of thing, but its like she gets off on it. To have a tugging sensation on her teeth is her favorite thing to do, which makes for pretty fun roughhousing:

She's not jumping there, she can hang like that for....well I don't know. She's always outhung my strength to hold her up.

I had a dog which was the same... bite and never let go. But it was a Dachshund, pretty funny that the dog would do the exact same thing as Blonde's dog. He's still alive actually must be 14 or 15 by now, is completely deaf and partially blind, but still the most persistent and tenacious dog I've ever seen.
