Its going to take something incredible to stop him; every style matchup that would give somebody a chance also hurts them. A Werdum type with size and top top level jits, he'll get KO'd A big striker with size and power, he'll get freight trained on the ground.

Well yes, but will he come to the UFC? I think its possible. Heretical as it may be, Fedor wouldn't be a huge favorite, his standup probably won't win the fight, and Mir from the guard, grabbing subs out of strange positions is as good as Fedor. Not as good overall, but better at "where the fuck did that come from?" subs, which is what I think it will take. |

Carwin is the only guy in the HW division size wise that can match up with Lesnar. As said above though he'll get freight trained straight to the ground.
I think Fedor is the only logical guy at HWT that stands a chance. The shitty part is anybody that roles at Lesnars weight (290ish) doesn't have 1/4 the athleticism that Lesnar has. My brother and I talked exactly about what Repug said at having a 230 or 235 lbs. weight class. There are multiple HWT's that would make that class very exciting (Cro cop, Velasques, Couture, etc.). |

Lil off topic, but here is the list of fighters on TUF 10, including Kimbo. http://www.sherdog.com/news/articles...-10-cast-18439
If Roy Nelson wins that, I hope they drop him after his first fight Also, Rampage and Rashaad got into it at Octagon side last night. There is a video of them jawing a bit, but didn't show the pushing. |

Brock Lesnar has two major things going for him... His left fist and his right fist... have you really looked at how big those damn things are... That's why he packs such a hardcore punch because they're massive... I think if Lesnar keeps working on his submission fighting he will be around for awhile... He's learning little by little as he gets more fights under his belt. He already has the standup game under control because it's pretty hard for anyone to compare to him, he's a BEAST, plain and simple... maybe not the best, but he's pretty hard to compare to with how much of a pounding he can put on someone's face in little to no time at all...

I would say it has more to do with his physical size. He can control anyone on the the ground due to the fact he is 30+ lbs heavier then any of his opponents. He controlled Mir's body on the ground just because of his size alone. I be when he was younger he could give a never ending Nuggy.

It's still ironic to me how Dana White does a complete dicktuck when it comes to Fedor and Kimbo. Originally they're nobodies who will never have a shot in the Octagon but now when he see's the promo $$$ put in front of him to get them associated with the UFC he wants them.

Obviously size has a lot to do with it, but Mir is a big boy himself, but thats beside the point. 1) Its not to Brock's discredit he can overpower other fighters with ease, drop the katas and hit the weightroom fellas, this is top level athletics. 2) It's not just size, his technical wrestling is some of the best in the HW division. MMA guys are incredibly technical in BJJ, but only learn technically sound takedown defense/offense when it comes to wrestling. Great example is Hammil; not an explosive wrestler, but his ground wrestling confused the shit out of Bisping. GSP and Lesnar side rode Serra and Herring perfectly, Rashad has done it too. Taking the back from the side ride is not always the best option, some guys are too good at rolling into guard from their and you lose the advantage. People gave Brock shit saying "I learned how to take the back the first day of BJJ!!!1", but they don't realize he knows how, he just is more dominant from side ride. A mix is obviously the best, and Hughes showed the perfect mix against Royce. While Whorian may have said he won with pure Gracie Jiu Jitsu; the way he took the back and flattened the hips looks familiar Whoreion would describe this as the perfect Gracie Jiu Jitsu duckunder takedown Matt used And of course Whorions patented Gracie Jiu Jitsu Quarter Nelson Don't get me wrong, BJJ is the dominant grappling art, but alot of technical wrestling can be used effectively. Brock and Hughes aren't just dominantly strong, they are are technical wrestlers, both on the feet and ground. People need to not just focus on the takedown aspect of wrestling and focus entirely on BJJ technique once its on the ground.
