Limitless.
Loser dude has writers, gf dumps him, and behind on rent. Ex-bro-in-law give him pill, NZT or something. Turns him smart, gives him energy, cures everything that ails him. Goes to buy more and dealer gets killed, but he ends up with dealers stash. Our hero becomes super like. Takes his talents to wall street where he comes out if nowhere to be bad ass trader and adviser to Robert de Niro. All kinds of bad guys try to get the drug and of course there are side effects.

Movie has a little of everything and was surprisingly enjoyable. You could do a lot worse. AP says check it out.

Movie was so stupid I stopped watching with 15 minutes left. I didn't give a shit about how it was going to end.

The King's Speech. A very well put together film. Focuses on the success of George V, Eddie VII, and George 6. George 6 stutters like a sumbitch and hires a bunch of dudes to fix that shit. Has all the ingredients of an award winner. Firth handles the role if George 6 extremely well. Rusk is good as Lionel and provides most of the comedy. Carter is solid as Liz queen mum. The casting was very well done to the point that you know who was supposed to be whom when first appearing on the screen, such as Neville chamberlain. So you get gripping story of guy overcoming his demons/ailment while gripping drama unfolds around with a happy ending. Not Korean massage happy ending, but positive uptick to the storyline at it's conclusion.

Will probably be nominated for best picture, Firth for actor, and Rusk for supporting actor or lead actor. Along with a bunch of other shit no straight dude gives a shit about.

I got around to watching it, and it wasn't bad. I probably wouldn't have watched it without the recommendation, but was pleasantly surprised. Hearing English people swear is hilarious also. I didn't know "bugger" was in the same category as "fuck."

Antichrist
It's branded as a horror film but it's more of an artsy film. Stars Willem Dafoe. Starts off creepy and ends with some crazy shit. Worth seeing imo if you can stand the slower pacing.

I watched The Green Hornet last night and the trailer for Middle Men was on there. I thought it looked decent, particularly for never hearing about it before that.

Regarding The Green Hornet, I enjoyed it for what it was. Nothing special, but a decent hero movie with a little bit of comedy thrown in. I enjoy Seth Rogen's movies.

Just added. I'm saddened to hear that it's not a tomato friendly movie. Tomatoes usually make movies better.

Blue Valentine is a terribly good movie. I've been trying to see most of the big nominees from the Oscars this past year, and Blue Valentine definitely deserved the nominations. It follows a married couple (Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams) through their relationship, from courtship all the way to the bitter end, bouncing back and forth between the two. If you're not into serious dramatic movies though, this isn't the one for you.

Watched a matinee today of Blue Valentine. It was at the theater in the mall. A couple of observations. Where the fuck did all the niggers and mexicans in the mall come from? For those who want to see Michelle Williams frequently naked having simulated sex, there's plenty there. She doesn't really do it for me so take that for what it's worth. Don't get me wrong, I'd hit it if the opportunity presented itself. I'm just not gonna think about her when I nail some 5.

The movie tells the tale between Cindy and Dean. How they meet, get married, and have it fall apart. It follows a flashbacks with current day format that works well. Williams and Gosling are really great and play off each other well. To the point where I was hating Cindy and wanted to choke her.

I watched Super 8 on Friday. Its pretty much a mash-up of Goonies and Cloverfield. I liked both of those movies, so i enjoyed Super 8.

X-Men: First Class is far and away the best X-Men movie to date.

Fassbennder is firmly establishing himself as a no-shit credible actor. His role in Inglorious Bastards was outshined by Christopher Waltz (Hans Landa) but still amazing ... the emotional depth he achieves as Magneto was frankly astounding for a comic book movie.

James MacAvoy (Wanted) came into his own as Charles Xavier as well, was hard for me to imagine anyone other than Patrick Stewart in this role, but he pulled it off.

The movie paced well, with good bits of appropriately placed action and a reasonably short montage of "recruiting" ... tie the X-Men into the Cuban bay of pigs crisis and you have yourself a solid film.

DC comics have always been inherently lamer than Marvel ... Avengers > Justice League by far and the Avengers has traditionally been one of Marvel's weaker titles. DC jumped the shark with their first Superhero (Superman) by giving him every power imaginable and then explored various other ways to give heroes every power imaginable (Green Lantern can do anything via space magic, Batman can do anything via technology, Wonder Woman can do anything via uterine contractions, etc).

The only DC superhero I have any hopes for is Batman, but that is mostly because of Frank Miller's re envisioning during his tenure as Batman's wrangler.
