I never said it was a comedy, you did. I said Kill Bill is funnier than Reservoir Dogs, especially in tone. Which it is.

Kill Bill itself is over the top and a bit humorous. The "funny" parts of Reservoir Dogs feel more like after thoughts, added later that have nothing to do with the movie.

Super-interesting three-part analysis of Eyes Wide Shut. Makes me feel like I didn't scratch the surface of understanding that movie when I saw it. That said, I don't think having seen it is even a prerequisite to appreciate this thorough analysis. Who knew there was so much going on in some movies?!

I hate Jodie Foster. She's the worst part of every movie I've seen her in.

Seconding the "Jodie Foster should probably just go die" movement.

In other news, if you're in the mood for a fun, feel-good little diddy, I'd highly suggest The World's Fastest Indian. It's a true tale about an old guy from New Zealand who care about nothing other than making his old as shit motorcycle go very fast. Stab suggested it to me. Now I'm suggesting it to you.

Just saw Rocknrolla which I liked a lot. He's Just Not That Into You pretty good as far as romcoms go. The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, no dice. Too much of a boring, depressing drag.

I've been meaning to watch Rocknrolla.

Agree with HJNTIY as being a decent chick flick.

Thought Boy in Striped Pajamas looked pretty decent, thanks for the headsup.

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas was 1 hour 30 minutes. It could have been a 20 minute short film. All you need to know about it:

The little German boy befriends a little Jewish boy (in a concentration camp). They meet regularly with a fence that separates them a mile from the German boy's house. They become friends. One day, the Jewish boy sneaks a camp uniform out to the fence. The German boy puts it on, and digs a hole under the fence so he can sneak into the concentration camp and play a game of "help me find my Dad" (who has obviously been incinerated) with the Jewish boy. When the kids are in the camp, they get shuffled along with a group of adults being taken to a gas chamber. The German boy's father (a Nazi soldier) and his mother get there seconds too late. Both kids are gased. </movie>

Fanboys. The more you like the original Star Wars trilogy, the more you'll get from the movie. It's basically about these four geeky friends in 1998. One of them is dying of cancer and they travel across the country to break into Skywalker Ranch to see a rough cut of The Phantom Menace, 6 months before it's released. I know it's only March, but I think it's the funniest movie I've seen this year.

two of the worst movies ever were on Startz back to back.

"Untraceable" with Diane Lane which is supposed to be a mystery/thriller --I think, but I'm not sure.

Then there was something called "Across The Universe" with Rachel Evan Wood and et al singing Beatles songs. Beyond gay. Even the the titties shots of Rachel can't salvage this piece of shit. Especially when learning that she's legal age.

Saw the latest Tarantino movie last night, Death Proof.

It was pretty fucking awesome. Maybe not quite Kill Bill awesome and definitely not Pulp Fiction awesome, but awesome all the same. Once it was over, I was pretty disappointed with myself for not having seen it until now.

Very sinister. Very disturbing.

While I think most of you would like it, one person who I'd guess would like it in particular is Orgazmo.

Wow...'gaz and I saw this as part of Grindhouse our senior year, and neither of us were impressed by it. I have heard people say that they liked it better now, for whatever reason. Maybe we should give it another shot.

Maybe the reason I hadn't seen it until last night was because I heard bad things. Going into it with low expectations might have skewed my view a little of it's awesomeness, but I'm still a little surprised Orgazmo didn't like it.

I did like it. Much better than the other half of Grindhouse. And as a standalone movie.

What I didn't like were the long, drawn out bitch dialogue scenes. Sans those scenes, I think it's a tit of a film. As is...it's a movie that shines for the most part, but is painfully annoying at times.

There's a personal trainer/"actor" at the gym I go to that had a small, albeit credited, part in one of the Grindhouse movies. He pretty much got pissed at everybody who had no idea "who he [was]" prior to the movie coming out. Then again he also would get pissed off if you had no idea who some of the big time pro athletes he bragged about training were. Really, this dude would take credit for straightening out some guy's deep snap or some shit for a back up deep snapper for a team nobody follows.

For this alone, I have resisted seeing anything Grindstone in the off chance that he gets a royalty from it.

Personal trainers are so fuckin' overrated. They're like strippers: overpaid, stupid, easily replaceable, and highly exposed to discretionary spending but despite that still somehow think they're awesome and entitled to being worshiped.

planet terror is exactly 4.5 tons better.

Quentin Tarantino is the most over rated director ever. here's his imbd:

# Inglourious Basterds (2009) (post-production)

# Death Proof (2007)
... aka Grindhouse Presents: Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof (USA: DVD title)
... aka Grindhouse: Death Proof (International: English title)
... aka Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof (USA: complete title)
... aka Quentin Tarantino's Thunder Bolt (USA: informal alternative title)
# Grindhouse (2007) (segment "Death Proof")
# "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (2 episodes, 2005)
... aka CSI: Las Vegas (South Africa: English title: informal alternative title) (USA: syndication title)
... aka C.S.I. (USA: short title)
... aka CSI: Weekends (USA: promotional title)
... aka Experts, Les (Canada: French title)
- Grave Danger: Volume 1 (2005) TV episode
- Grave Danger: Volume 2 (2005) TV episode
# Sin City (2005) (special guest director)
... aka Frank Miller's Sin City (USA: complete title)
# "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" (1 episode, 2004)
- Episode dated 20 April 2004 (2004) TV episode
# Kill Bill: Vol. 2 (2004)
... aka Kill Bill (USA: closing credits title)
... aka Kill Bill 2 (USA: informal title)
... aka Vol. 2 (USA)
# Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003)
... aka Kill Bill (USA: informal short title)
... aka Kill Bill 1 (USA: informal title)
... aka Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill: Volume One (USA: promotional title)

# Jackie Brown (1997)
# Four Rooms (1995) (segment "The Man from Hollywood")
# "ER" (1 episode, 1995)
- Motherhood (1995) TV episode
# Pulp Fiction (1994)
# Reservoir Dogs (1992)

# My Best Friend's Birthday (1987)

Easily the best movie on that list is Frank Miller's Sin City, where he was only a "special guest director" what ever the fuck that is.
Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs are the only good movies he's ever directed. Kill Bill was an over rated stupid piece of shit, as was every thing else he's done.

Hostel, The Protector, Hostel Part II, and Hell Ride are all movies he's had nothing to do with but people always seem to think otherwise.

Putting the sensual in non-consensual.
