Firefly was low budget shit. The writing was mediocre at best, the characters were caricatures. The series was a steaming pile of public-access shit. The concept of a space "frontier" was cool, but the show only lasted one season for a very good reason: it sucked cocks.

Has anyone ever watched Fringe?

I've heard that the first season is tough to get through, but after that it becomes one of the greatest sci-fi shows of all time. I was wondering if anyone here had an opinion on it.

My roommate loves the show. Thinks it's fantastic. I watched the first 3 episodes or so and meh'd the fuck out, but I also did that with Breaking Bad at first (I wasn't hooked until the broken plate scene).

I might give it a shot after I'm done with The Wire and TNG.

Just finished the last season of Entourage.

Ari realizing what's really important to him and walking out on his office/career was a classy way to end a great character. I have to admit I got a little choked up when he showed up with the Italian opera group to get his wife back. Total class.

Fitting that the last word of dialogue of the series was Drama saying ladies.

Okay Ari getting a call from a guy offering to make him god of Hollywood might have been an even better way to end the character and show.

Have to hand it to Entourage. It might have grinded on a little in those last few seasons but I don't remember having as much fun watching TV since Saved by the Bell as a kid. DH was right, they really ended it nicely.

Guilty pleasure. I think "New Girl" is funny. Not hilarious, but funny. It's like watching JD and Turk from Scrubs. If they annoy you, this should will annoy you. If Zooey Doshanel (sp) annoys you, this show will annoy you. I've also only seen six episodes. If this scene annoys you, don't watch this show. But I think it's funny.

In the real world, a series refers to a show in its entirety. Seasons of a series come out, usually, once a year.

For example, True Blood is a series. True Blood season 4, which comes out next week, is a season.

And the softcore pornographic series that Sookie will surely be reduced to after True Blood is done is called a spin-off.
