Psychedelics are illegal not because a loving government is concerned that you may jump out of a third story window. Psychedelics are illegal because they dissolve opinion structures and culturally laid down models of behavior and information processing.

Keep in mind BDH... investment bankers today aren't the investment bankers that they used to be. Today they are just a bunch of fresh college kids working their asses off to inhumane extremes. There's nothing special about them other than they all have college educations, a healthy dose of greed, a tid bit of some vision, but mostly are willing to deal with shit most of us wouldn't dream of having to deal with.
It seems to me, now this is ironic to say, that our generation may be smarter than previous generations in some respects, but we may be exceedingly less "wise." I get the feeling that our generation votes for "what feels good" more than previous generations (as did the children of the 60s), and that the youth today who are becoming lawyers, doctors, and investment bankers, see the world from a rosier, or more comfortable perspective than the other generations. It's easy to forget that what built society was strong (even life or death) incentives for actions. Profit incentives created the world that these young professionals currently enjoy. And, once again ironically, I believe that the young professionals may not be wise enough to understand the very real role that incentives play in creating wealth. It seems very simple to say, I know. But on the aggrigate I think Americans think about their lives a lot, and about the system less. |
![]() The basis of our governments being the opinion of the people, the very first object should be to keep that right; and were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers, or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter. But I should mean that every man should receive those papers and be capable of reading them. ![]() |

LOL... I love when he's like "Obama is a long-legged mac daddy!" and the guy behind him just nods his head like they're talking about Biblical truths or something.
Oh man... black people... |

I looked for a source but was unable to find one. I read an article not to long ago that talked about the trends of generations. While we could debate that we are either in the very end of Gen X. or the very beginning of Gen. Y most of our parents (unless you have younger parents) are Baby Boomers. It basically said that Gen X. has been one of the worst money managing generations ever. Baby Boomers while making more money than the Silent Generation (Great depression had a big impact) was horrible with retirement and saving money. It carried over to Gen X and said Gen X will be even less prepared for retirement than the Baby Boomers who have seemed to heavily rely on Social Security.
However Gen Y they said will probably do better than both because we have had two generations of money mismanagement to learn from. It was all relative but was a really interesting article |
