Meat is extremely healthy to eat. Yeah I guess we should limit what humans have eaten for thousands of years. Enjoy malnutrition and vitamin deficiency.
If you really want to be healthy eat meat but also eat organ meat like liver and heart. |

I never said it was bad, but if we consider the massive amount of unnecessary, processed slaughter of sentient beings, which definitely feel pain, suffering, and emotions, is not entirely necessary on the scale that is currently popular in Western countries. Compare this to countries like India, which sustains a very large population on a mostly vegetarian diet. Meat and Dairy companies have a vested interest in perpetuating mass consumption of meat.

All this being said, I acknowledge that our shift to become omnivores started back when we were ape-like beings that were opportunistic eaters, and ate insects and grubs, so. It was on natural that as our ancestors migrated away from the stable crescent of Africa, into colder regions, the opportunistic eating trend is probably the only thing that allowed our ancestors to survive long periods of freezing cold. That being said, our evolutionary line has also been supported by cannibalism and rape, as a necessity, no doubt, so that's the other side of the coin. | |

Psychedelics are illegal not because a loving government is concerned that you may jump out of a third story window. Psychedelics are illegal because they dissolve opinion structures and culturally laid down models of behavior and information processing.

DH you're a dimwit and no one on nubblies cares what you have to say about these topics, thankfully you're a joke around here and not a serious harm.
Some things that were adaptive on the ancestral landscape are currently maladaptive, just because humans have done something for thousands of years doesn't mean it's a good thing or pinnacle of nature. Why do vegetarians tend to live longer than meat-eaters? The intelligence and longevity gap between vegetarians and meat eaters would probably be greater with creatine supplementation. Creatine in mouse models of neurodegeneration and aging. - PubMed - NCBI Creatine in mouse models of neurodegeneration and aging. The influence of creatine supplementation on the cognitive functioning of vegetarians and omnivores. - PubMed - NCBI The influence of creatine supplementation on the cognitive functioning of vegetarians and omnivores. National Child Development Study here in the UK, vegetarians record a mean childhood IQ of 109.1. Meat eaters record a mean childhood IQ of 100.9. the intelligence gap is both large and statistically significant. Childhood intelligence and being a vegetarian "I think the 8+ point IQ gap here in the UK between vegetarians and meat-eaters unduly flatters meat eaters. This is because today's so-called IQ tests are "mind blind". Any test of general intelligence with ecological validity would give due weight to scoring the mind-reading prowess that drove the evolution of distinctively human intelligence. Such a test would almost certainly show the disparity in intelligence between meat-eating dullards and vegetarians is higher still." Why Do Vegetarians Live Longer? "Why Do Vegetarians Live Longer?" |

Dent, fuck yourself. Vegetarians living longer probably has absolutely nothing to do with vegetarianism. Correlation/causation fallacy you dumb fucking prick.

I appreciate the link, DH. Looks like it's mostly articles that say what's in the pill but are very, very careful to not specifically say that it does anything at all, though. In fact, the articles in the reputable publications look an awful lot like the kind one could purchase on blackhatworld.com for $1k-$2k each. Not at all saying it's definitely hogshit or anything, just saying that I don't really trust articles like that which only seem to be prominently displayed on the site that's selling the product.
I'd much prefer testaments from folks that have taken the pill for awhile (I realize it's new) and/or studies based on them. Is this something you're taking? If so, I'll take a look at you in a year or so and, if you've Benjamin Button'd or turned superhuman, I'll jump in head first. |

Wrong trail. Telomere research was around long before the Hollywood science fiction blockbuster movie Elysium©, starring primate drama specialists Matt Damon and Jodie Foster, among other well-known apes.
Here is a good TED-talk on the recent developments in telomere research, as well as a more in-depth information on the subject. Warning: Contains Eastern Spice |

What do you think of that CRISPR genetic tactic? I had never heard of that before, but based on our experience with domesticating plants and animals, it would make sense that we would do the same with existing organisms that suit our needs (in this case, deleting things out of genes).

Sam Harris talks about this ISIS magazine. You may have seen it already. Check out page 30 and then consider how fucking retarded everyone is about Islam in the West.

I listened to part of that Sam Harris / Will Mcmadskills podcast yesterday, listening to the rest today.
First thoughts --- this is the first time the concept of Ethical Altruism has been spelled out. This guy is a good communicator. I like that they are putting a more discerning eye on "feel good projects" that white people /The West love to engage in in poor countries. I feel like it's good it's getting a firm hold in, but it may be a while before most Americans, in particular, embrace the idea of "merely" giving away their "hard-earned" money. I'm obviously in support of this, if for nothing else, that it gears people towards helping others for happiness, instead of their own trivial, private, rather meaningless personal conquests. That being said, it's still very cutthroat and selfish here in the USA -- the wealthy really keep money in their families here, closing themselves off into minor partitions of "us" vs. "them", so it may be difficult to get them to willingly donate on the concept of altruism alone. |

I feel pretty certain that anybody who talks about how selfish it is for Americans wanting to keep wages to themselves have never lived in an area with people on welfare programs.

Second most deprived area of the UK checking in, twice the national average unemployment rate and 20% on welfare, national average is 13%.
When I think of f3lix I think of the pigs from animal farm. Forgive them Father for they know not what they do! Most deprived town in England is Oldham, ONS study finds - BBC News http://www.expressandstar.com/news/2...ived-uk-areas/ |
