It's one thing for women to get in the gym, throwing 12 pound dumbbells and spewing nonsense about "toning up." But when guys come in, usually wearing a wife-beater or tight white undershirt showing off their soft body, chronically throw on 20% more weight than they should rightly handle, and use terrible form to lift it a few times, moving haphazardly through a completely improvised schedule consisting of a few bicep curls, some flat bench, and oh hell, why not some calf raises-- it pisses me off is what I'm saying.

I have nothing against people who don't work out often, aren't strong, or don't know proper form. But before you even step in the gym, get your shit together. Go with someone who does know what they're doing. I guarantee you know someone and I guarantee they don't mind.

No more trying to clean your curls up. No more leg pressing your calf raises. No more bouncing the bar off your chest. Who the fuck are you cheating? So the more experienced guys in the gym are seeing you bench 165 badly instead of 145 with decent form. Dude, they're all benching 250 and don't give a shit because they've moved on to bigger and better things.

Not a day goes by that someone in the gym doesn't piss me off with their ignorance and unwillingness to correct it.

Yes. I hate this. The funniest example I ever saw was in the YMCA in Warsaw. Two skinny-ass skin heads walk into the weight room. No one thinks anything of it, but I notice them put 135 on the bench press (one 45 plate on each side). I was amused and stopped working out to watch, since it appeared that both were too skinny to even pick up a plate. The first guy gets about 3 reps with terrible form. Then his friend gets on the bench. As soon as the bar was lifted, one of his arms gave out and the plate fell off with a large and humorous noise, which immediately led to the other side see-sawing off as well. The jackass was left with an empty bar in his hands while the entire weight room just stared.

I chuckled about it for a while.

Do you take it personally, Blonde? Like if you knew a guy who just wanted to be as skinny as possible, and therefore legitimately never worked out, wasn't strong at all, and if they did work out, would look terrible doing it; would you like hold it against him and sorta hate him in a way?

I guess it doesnt bother me much with skinny people as much as it does fat people. Regardless, I think people should exercise and eat healthy because they owe it to their body, but that's just my mindset. Lately though, i've been really fucking pissed off at ridiculously fat people. Have some fucking self respect, Lord knows you could at least TRY to lose the weight. They're a burden on fucking society, and an eyesore.

One part of me says "Oh, everybody was like that at one point, they just have to learn and get used to it before they can get any good at it," but I honestly don't ever remember not knowing what I was doing, even when I was a weakass sophomore in high school. Everyone's just gotta be so tough.

If you are fat, get on the treadmill.
If you are skinny, hit the free weights, heavy as you can, with good form.
If you are just dumpy and want to get rid of your love handles, get on the treadmill. Situps are NOT going to help.
If you want to be buff, lift heavy and for god's sakes eat right.
If you want to be the very best at lifting a bar unsteadily with a spotter's help twice, just put as much as you want on there.

And beyond that, if you REALLY don't give a damn what you look like, honestly, then you can talk about not going to the gym. You're very lucky that you've fooled yourself into believing society doesn't judge you at first glance 100 times a day.
