Finally got around to watching it on HBO. Damn glad I didn't spend any additional money on this piece of shit at the theater or DVD. Might be one of the worst fucking movies ever made. Not only does it have an incredible stupid storyline --it's boring. I don't have anything against stupid storylines per se, but Jesus make them at least somewhat interesting.
Here's a few suggestions: It's one thing to have futuristic bad ass gizmos that aren't believeable, ala Star Wars. But if you're going to do that make sure that you have an idea of 1970s engineering when trying to explain 1970s engineering. When aiming for suspense and drama parts, make the parts suspenseful and dramatic. Here they fell flat. It's now time to address the Katie Holmes factor. At one time I thought she was one fine piece of jail bait. Don't know what happened, but she lost it as an adult. She's not the first bitch to suffer through the "Hot ass turned plain overnight" syndrom. Happened to Neve Campbell and many others. Strange phenomenom. Cruise may have been a great calculated career move for her. In this movie, she looks mostly lopsided and one half of her bigger than the other. Even in her best scenes in this movie, she looks no better than average and somebody who you think to yourself "oh shit, how do I get rid of her" when you wake up next to her with a hangover and you promise to call her but never do. They try to make her the love interest of Batman/Wayne and raise the question of will they or won't they hookup. The answer is simply: "who gives a fuck". Perhaps the biggest bitch I have with this movie is that some of the questions it tried to address where already addressed in the first Batman movie some 17 years ago. It made no sense whatsoever to drop hints about what's lingering in the future when you already know. That was like doing a prequel to "Rocky" and trying to build up the question of whether a meager club fighter gets a once in the life time chance to challenge the champ for the title. Ah well, anyway, I do take comfort in knowing that Batman drops Katie Holmes and bangs Kim Basinger in the next movie though. |

I make bad decisions.

IIRC, they were planning on re-doing several of the villains from the previous Batman films, for later "sequels" but I'm not 100% on that. I think the reasonning was that many people were not happy with how some of the other Batman films were done, so they think that they could do them better.
I enjoyed the film though. |
