So you may remember I recently moved into a pimpass apartment by the thames. Biggest downside about the place was that it came unfurnished. (Upsides include view, space, proximity to my gym, and pretty much exclusive access to the roof.) Here's what it looks like unfurnished:

So I've finally gotten the place furnished. Played the patient game on this one, and was able to score some pretty sweet furniture for much less than you'd think. Anyway, here's the haul, now that it's all done.
The bed. First week, I was sleeping on an air mattress, including a weekend with a girl that involved reinflating it about ten times. Finally scored this bad boy with a tempurpedic mattress:

Hallway table with winerack made of reclaimed oak:

If I was going to live in a penthouse, it only seemed fair that Yoshi should have one too.

Yoshi loves that shit. (By the way, that's a portrait of me, two old roommates, and yoshi, in the background.)

Table, bench, and a chess set I bought at a nearby auction house.

Couch, rug, coffee table.

And the last piece, which just came today (for 50 pounds!!!!)

BAM!

Still don't get the tablet craze. Played with ex-gf's some. I admit, it was very, very cool. I liked it a lot. But I'd just buy a laptop before an iPad if I was spending that much money on electronics.

For me, it's more portable, more interactive, and just more convenient. That said, I don't think it's a replacement for laptops. The main distinction is laptops are better for gaming and creating things, whereas tablets are better for just pure consumption. If I had to have one I'd pick a laptop because it has more utility, but since I can afford it I chose to have both.
