I don't think too many people that know anything about football undervalue offensive line. Mostly casual fans. But as far as a single position, QB is more important than any one position on the offensive line.

I thought about this, but a pitcher is only involved in about 20-25% of the games.

Also the catcher shares a lot of the defensive responsibilities, such as play calling. In essence, the QB position is both that of pitcher and catcher when compared to baseball. He is responsible for viewing the opposition, making the play call, and executing each play.

I think the only ties between football and basketball teams with their universities should be the name and age age limitations; let them go to class if they want, but just remove the entire charade of "amateurism." UNAM in Mexico is a pro team based on a college, but run entirely as a pro program.
