I spend like 3 hours a week reading about BTC these days. Find them fascinating. Can't believe FC was talking about mining them on here for all of us to read about when they were < $5 a coin. Kicking myself for not finding it so interesting back then.

Satoshi Nakamoto's paper that started Bitcoin is really helpful for understanding how the system works. I don't get a lot of the technical details displayed in the charts as to how the chain functions but the emphasis on how attackers are a threat to the model and how the model diminishes the risk of attacks is interesting. http://bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf

Vegas Developer Selling $7.85M Mansion for Bitcoin - ABC News
"Locking in a price for such a large transaction is going to be kind of difficult," he said. "If the value is changing 30 percent a day, how do you quantify that in a contract and expect each side to hold on for 30 to 90 days while escrow clears?" Not impossible I suppose, skeptical that it'll be bought with bitcoins though. |
