I read it, just interpreted "audited" as an accounting audit, so didn't really think of it, so I look a bit stupid. Plus it is sort of informally audited every day; keeping all the people who move the gold around quiet would be quite hard.

But just because it's sort of a fun theory rather than a 9-11 one; what do you think happened to it if the gold is no longer there?

That's the thing, the vault is never opened. There's just a bunch of security around a vault that hasn't been accounted for, for over 30 years.

And ex-employees have been circulating rumors that the vault is empty. This is a well known rumor down in Kentucky.

Honestly, I think we sold the gold off. We just haven't released the fact that there is no gold there to ensure the stability of the dollar vs. international currencies.
