Adopt Kisu! - Animal Rescue Korea Forums
In regard to teaching, its not half bad. The kids can be little shits, but thats kids, and its a pretty cake job. I teach two-3 hour classes a day (can't remember if i already mentioned that or not), and my hours are from 3:30-10:30 (i have to get their an hour early to prep and make copies and shit), still really getting used to the lifestyle though. Was going to do some sightseeing around Seoul this past weekend, temples and all that shit, but Friday night was one of the teachers' birthdays and turned into a complete shitshow, so I just stayed most of the weekend, which I don't regret. Also I said "shit" three times in that paragraph. I'm liking that I don't feel the need to be in Seoul as much, its not as big of a deal as I thought it would be (not being "IN" Seoul, that is). Plus its only about an hour bus/subway ride there...here is to give you guys a bit better of an idea where exactly i'm at. The "A" is Yeonsu-Gu, the district of Incheon I live in: ![]() There is a mountain nearby i've hiked a few times, and did again on Sunday; its not that difficult to do (there are old people and kids on that thing all day...which sucks) but you can get great views of the surrounding area... Interesting information about the city of New Songdo I was talking about: New Songdo City - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia So yeah. Don't have much on my plate right now, hopefully see some of the temples and local stuff this weekend, there is a HUGE "mud festival" this summer where a bunch of foreigners (read: white people) go to get wasted and pass out on the beach and cover themselves in mud (lolpics), I guess thats a good time so we're already making plans for that. Main thing on the agenda is getting rid of this fucking dog, though. |

Did you know much about SK before leaving? or was it more of a any-asian-will-do kinda thing? I saw a documentary (THE VICE GUIDE TO NORTH KOREA - Episode 1 - The South's DMZ - VBS.TV) on north korea, real eye opening.
Is the bridge from the airport to the north of Incheon the same as the second to last picture? are there any boats from the airport to Incheon? Found this through that documentary crossing the line | a new film by VeryMuchSo productions In 1962, a U.S. soldier sent to guard the peace in South Korea deserted his unit, walked across the most heavily fortified area on earth and defected to the Cold War enemy, the communist state of North Korea. He then simply disappeared from the face of the known world. He became a coveted star of the North Korean propaganda machine, and found fame acting in films, typecast as an evil American. He uses Korean as his daily language. He has three sons from two wives. He has now lived in North Korea twice as long as he has in America. At one time, there were four Americans living in North Korea. Today, just one remains. Now, after 45 years, the story of Comrade Joe, the last American defector in North Korea, is told. Also, you NEED to get this on a t-shirt ![]() |

Don't have time to watch those now, but will. I actually JUST heard about the guy who defected and was forced to stay in NK yesterday, so I def. wanna watch that...interesting shit. Also the Axe Murder wikipedia article GWB posted is very interesting too.
In regard to coming here, yeah, pretty much just winged it. South Korea is one of the higher paid areas for English teachers and i'm down with that so whatever; never really had a preference, they all look the same anyways ![]() Anyways, I posted an update on my website about it last week, gonna post another one soon...cheers Lost on Planet Earth |

My friend just wrote in his blog about springtime and local festivals- which is exactly what you did too- except that in his case it means penis festivals. [url="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kanamara_Matsuri"wiki entry"[/url] Also, blonde, you write the code yourself for the blog? | |

(for the record, i've never played starcraft, and DDtempest told me a few weeks ago if a kid is fucking around in class or being a bad kid, I should just yell that at him in a deep, loud voice, and once he explained to me what it meant i laughed my ass off)

![]() The basis of our governments being the opinion of the people, the very first object should be to keep that right; and were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers, or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter. But I should mean that every man should receive those papers and be capable of reading them. ![]() |
