What the fuck is wrong with the world? This wasn't a student, it was a 20 year old man killing little children. It is the deadliest school shooting in American history.

They've removed it.

There's another rlanza in Hoboken who is telling people that he's not the shooter, for what it's worth.

The latest news is that the shooter killed his mother (a teacher in the school) and that his brother has also been found dead in Hoboken.

I wonder how many people would commit suicide if they realized how insane the world they live in actually is. If our meticulously-crafted and rather ludicrously built social structure broke down (and social structure is basically chance and invention -- nothing else), I think hundreds of millions, if not billions, would just end their lives.

No wonder religion is so prevalent. Without that afterlife and the promise of judgment for "sinners", many people, some on this board, simply could not take it.

Criminals, by definition, don't follow the rules.

Statistics show an inverse relationship between gun-related crimes and gun ownership.

In other news, the initial reports were wrong. It appears there are 27 dead, including the shooter, and 20 of them were children.

The shooter's mother was a kindergarten teacher, and he basically mowed down her entire class. Most of the murdered children were between the ages of 5 and 10. Makes me fucking sick to my stomach.

We really need to rid ourselves of this stigma on mental illness. People need to realize that the brain is just like any other organ and is capable of becoming diseased. Mental illness should not label one as weak or strange. Only by removing this stigma can we raise awareness and better treat mental disorders.

Whereas most people are calling this guy a monster, piece of shit, lowlife scum, in some way I pity him. There is no way any sane, rational human being would or could commit such a heinous act. He obviously had some terrible mental disorders that were not properly treated. As a result, he caused unimaginable pain and suffering on countless people and lost his own life as well.

People should be encouraged to get annual psychological evaluations. Instead you have to hide seeing a psychiatrist from people. I know that if I ever see a psychiatrist, I will pay cash for everything and have nothing sent to my insurance simply because, if the day ever arises that employers can see health records, I don't want that to be on there and have myself labeled with such stigma.

I don't really watch the nightly news, but from the news websites that I've seen, I think the media has done a great job of not plastering this guy's face and name everywhere. Instead they've focused on the tragedy itself rather than the man responsible. I think this is a a positive change from the norm. Hopefully this will continue when the next mass shooting occurs. I wish I could say if the next mass shooting occurs, but I think we all know it's just a matter of time, sadly.
