As long as we're talking about Geordi, why did they always have him examine stuff with the different spectrums his visor can see? You'd think they'd be able to implement those same scanners on the ship.
I understand this makes sense in regard to moving the plot forward, but do they ever explain why they send out high level officers from the bridge for their A and B teams? The constant replacing of the first two especially bridge officers (usually Geordi and Data) is kind of annoying. |

You're asking why a director would want the movie stars in as many scenes as possible?

They usually bring 1 or 2 low level officers with them. So they have two high ranking officers with two peons in case someone has to die.
Have you seen any of the Star Trek movies with the next generation cast? They are all pretty damn good. You should definitely watch them in the order they were released. My favorite would be First Contact. I saw this movie in theaters and it's what actually turned me on to watching the show. One of my favorite movies ever. |

Let's go back to the tar creature that killed Tasha Yar. My parents are nerds and I was raised a nerdling, every saturday when I was a kid we all watched TNG together. But the skin of evil episode scared the FUCK out of me. Here was an alien that wasn't at all comical or relatively close too human, just a boogeyman alien. I didn't sleep that night at all, or watch star trek for weeks. Now it should be noted that I was like 5 and had had a similar reaction to "Gremlins 2" but still, when I think of that episode I get the willies. For some reason even the borg didnt elicit this reaction.

Star Trek is the Utopian mixture of capitalism and democracy. Everyone is equal, but talent and effort is rewarded and given bigger responsibilities. I thought it was pretty clear that all starfleet officers and members are the top echelon of the human race. Everyone's goal is to better themselves in any way they can. I wouldn't expect a barn rat like you to understand. | |

TNG was the bomb.
I almost cried when Picard became a borg. |

Yes, the ones where Picard becomes a borg (Titled: The Best of Both Worlds) are often referred to as the best episodes of the entire series. They are definitely some of my favorites. I'm not sure I remember the one where lore teams up with the borg.
I also liked the episode where the crew captures a borg unit and almost turn him back into a human. |

I'm having a really hard time getting through the first season.
Troi is pretty much worthless besides her cleavage. The way the Federation panders to assholes is annoying as fuck. Riker's facial expressions are pissing me off. The silly fucking tropes are also really annoying. Although I did watch the "Dixon Hill" holodeck episode last night, that was pretty cool. |

Troi is fucking awesome because of her awesome tits. She also can sense other people's emotions, which proves to be extremely useful. However, I'm not sure why this warrants her a chair next to the captain.
Riker is my favorite character (other than Picard). He is a bad ass...I have no idea wtf you're talking about with his facial expressions. Please elaborate. And yes, I do agree that the way the Federation panders to assholes is annoying. Picard is a bad ass, though, and he will rarely back down from those mother fuckers despite what the federation tells him to do. In that regard, however, Picard is not as bad ass as Kirk. Kirk would do whatever the fuck he wanted. Kirk was far more like Riker is than Picard. Picard is more a finesse type of captain, whereas Kirk was just a balls-out renegade. |

Riker was actually pretty lame.
Data was golden. |
