I'm on Season 5 now.
The Wire is the greatest thing I've ever watched. |

Hey, I'm man enough to admit maybe I was wrong about the show. But you have to see how mid-way through season 2 I got really bored with it and gave up. Season 1 was good, but not good enough for me to wage on through season 2. Especially with other, better shows available that I hadn't seen at the time.

Somebody give me something to look forward to here without any spoilers. I watched the first episode like a month or two ago and all I really saw was annoying whiteboy accents, some black lesbians, cliche superior officers and a glimpse of the drug woes of the projects.

You guys are so spoiled.
Yes the plot moves slow. That's half the joy of it. If you can finish the first season and still not enjoy it then give up. But please watch at least the first season. This isn't a show where you can watch the first two episodes and get upset because you didn't see 30 minutes of hardcore police chase action and 15 shootouts. It's a million times better than that. |

This show has the most realistic dialogue of any TV show I've ever seen. Nothing seems canned at all. | |

I love how I've been telling all of you that this is the Greatest Show Ever Made for three years now and now that like one of you actually watched it, everyone is like "oh okay I'm buying the box set!"

I wanted to watch it from the beginning, but HBO never offered it on demand. They'd offer other seasons, but if it really is as good as you claim, then I want to experience from the beginning... so... I bought it all.

This thread is turning into an epic circle jerk. Don't get me wrong, the show was great and all but its not like it was a life changer. There were plenty of flaws one could point out and things that got pretty silly. The McNulty character started to get old real fast and climaxed in sillyness with the whole fake serial killer thing.

I agree.
Am watching the final episode as we speak and I just spoke to Kremlin regarding the over-the-topness of the homeless serial killer thing. But it doesn't even come close to ruining the show for me. |

I just watched the 3rd episode of season 3 of battlestar galactica. Even despite Apollo's ridiculous fat suit, this was possibly the best TV episode I've ever seen. Right up there with "Oh shit Picard's a borg." This show has some big flaws, but it is movie-quality sci-fi and I feel silly for ignoring it until now.

What are it's flaws in your opinion? My biggest beefs are how much time they spend on bullshit romance and religious crap, but I guess that's more realistic to the human race than almost everything else in the show.
I just finished the season 2 finale and it was fucking bomb. I'm really looking forward to starting season 3 and i'll try to catch up to where you are tonight <3 ![]() |

I mean it's a weekly show, so it has a lot of the same flaws as a show like Lost. Too much time on romance, character's often acting pretty stupidly in order to keep the script moving, a lot of details very vaguely glossed over, like if the cylons can plug wires into their arms how is it so hard to tell who's a cylon? Sorry I don't know how to do the spoiler hider and that's not really a spoiler. None of the characters are completely unsucky. Starbuck is badass but acts like a woman way too much. Adama is pretty mean but one episode he is supermoral and the next he is a total fascist. Apollo is a dork. Helo is a tool. Prof Boltar is completely unfeasible. The president, though, is a bigtime MILF.
But the plot is good and the graphics are fantastic. The show seems way higher-budget than any other weekly program. Wait until you see Apollo's fatsuit. But "Occupation, part 2" will blow your mind. It's incredible. |

I saw a little bit of Apollo's oncoming fatness in the last ep. of Season 2. I wonder what's up with that, he used to be fit as fuck. I hope they do lots of flashbacks over the last year they were on New Caprica, I was pretty surprised they just fast-forwarded like that.
