Yes, it clearly has been made. I just was informing anyone who has yet to watch the most recent season that they need to check out Creme Fraiche. Randy Marsh having "phone sex" with the food network hotline...fucking epic.

^ That's how I feel about Deadwood. With only one episode left to watch, I'm delaying my watching it because I don't want it to end. The show is so amazing that other tv shows I used to enjoy watching (i.e. True Blood, Weeds, etc) are disappointing to me now. I don't know if I'll ever enjoy watching another tv series again.

I'm going to watch it again. The characters have stuck with me... The Wire is pure class. | |

The Wire basically ruined movies for me. Even classics like the Godfather, while still fun to watch, no longer really seem like that impressive of a story-telling accomplishment to me. They feel rushed and characters seem underdeveloped. The Wire is like a 60-hour long movie that changes your life.

This thread should really be "Who's your favorite character from The Wire?" I like so many of them!
The boss down at the docks has a special place in my heart for some reason. They really captured the essence of the blue-collared working American man. |

Jesus Christ guys. It's a very good show. But let's simmer down a little. Are you guys really going to claim that there weren't many episodes that were almost unwatchable, or went on 20 minutes too long? I agree, it was a fantastic show, but let's calm down with "it's somewhere between shakespeare and marlowe.

Barack Obama agrees with me. And his favorite character is Omar.

Two characters from The Wire that really stood out to me were Tommy Carcetti and Marlo Stanfield. Carcetti's rise to mayor of Baltimore and the personal and political compromises he made to attain the position reinforced my assumption of what a person running for office might encounter in such a pursuit. Marlo Stanfield straight up scared the shit out of me. Dude was stone cold.

I love how the ghetto kids all have such well-developed characters. You have the kid from a broken home who has some serious personality issues, the kid who was born to be a gangster, and the normal kid who's life gets all f*cked up. Each one is very well developed. It amazes me that they all seem so real and believable.
