I appreciate devils advocacy more than most, but posting a sentence or two accompanying an interesting scientific article is a tad different than posting thesis-grade diatribes. You can get your point across (in a serious manner) to an uneducated (in whatever field is in question) audience much easier by using layman's terms and relatable examples than abstract equations and advanced terminology. My main quarrel with Der Fuhrer's posts in this thread ("it's hard to take you serious") was his adherence to the personality of his gimmick account, which is fine for throwaways, not so much for serious posters. When I find myself bored or trying to get a laugh, I don't respond with a "You going to bark all day, little doggy, or are you going to bite?"

I'm simply saying I respect the knowledge, but i'd respect it a lot more (not that he cares, or should) if he used applicable knowledge rather than reciting what seems to be textbook examples a la that dbag in the bar from Good Will Hunting.

Whats equally or more annoying is that free market ideals have become fixed to "right wing" with it's retarded unimportant social causes and wars on drugs and other bullshit. The left and particuarly the democratic party could be reduced to ashes if the GOP wasn't so offensive to many people on what are complete fucking wastes of effort to appease the fucking redneck fundentalist whackjob christian section of it's base.

This is so fucking true. It boggles my mind at how so many people can't comprehend how important the economy is and how people will vote solely for issues such as gays, abortion, etc... Things that don't affect the majority of people anyway.
