You guys act like these comments bother me. They don't.
I am what I am and I know where I'm going and I've got a lot of ammo ready to unleash over the next five years. I've got the Vice President of the most elite group of band directors supporting me, the President of the largest high school band organization in the world ready to go to bat for me, and I'll be student teaching with the best band program in Indiana in the Spring. I'm being published by the biggest music publishing company in the world and my recent arrangement is going on the biggest classical music label in the world. So do you really think a bunch of guys (who know nothing about my industry) are going to bother me? Just like I told the naysayers at BSU, I don't care what you think about me. I'm doing everything I can to become the best I can be and gaining as many experiences and elite contacts as possible. I'm highly motivated to succeed and don't want to be around those who don't share the same ambitions. If that offends the posters that have never left Indiana in their 25 years of living, then you fall right in line with the other goons that I've called out for the past decade. Now, on the other foot, if you want to talk about things, instead of just blindly calling me egotistical for being a non-traditional student and causing a some chaos in an academic setting, then I gladly will converse and see where we can go with conversation. |

f3lix,
I can't recall the thread but it seems like you always need to tout your accomplishments by using things to back you. I remember you claiming to be a three sport athlete in high school (could be wrong) and distinctly telling us you were "all-conference" freshman b-team basketball (which is still hilarious). I don't know if you try to tell us this to gain acceptance or if you tell us this to try and put yourself as superior to everyone (the latter is how you come off and the former is what I think you really want). That's great if all this music stuff is going good for you. I get it that you blow a mean tuba, walk on water, and know more than 70% of the music department at BSU. If you didn't come off so condescending to everyone I might take you more seriously. |

When I was a freshman, I thought I was high and mighty when it came to music, because I came from a top-tiered band, won a concert state title, and was all-state. I came in ready to shake things up. When I say "shake things up" I mean that I wanted to change things for the better. I wanted to impact my peers with ideas for improvement in musicality, arranging, conducting, performing, etc... I wanted to make great things happen. What I found, was my ideas were not accepted by the upper-classmen who felt threatened by me. They did not like that since this was their time to shine as section leaders. They were awful players, lacked leadership capabilities, and were just completely ignorant clams who thought college was all about having fun. This didn't sit well with me, as I felt they were influencing others to not take things seriously and I wasn't afraid to tell them that. When one of the two realized he wasn't going to be able to shut me down, he went to a fraternity brother (there is a music fraternity, which 80% of the males in the school of music took part in.) This fraternity brother offered me a ride from the practice field back to campus one day and I accepted. He told me I wasn't making a good impression on the leaders of the fraternity and that as the guy in charge of recruitment, I was advised to stop questioning the actions of said leaders. I actually laughed out loud and told him I didn't come to BSU to impress upper-classmen who didn't care about music and were in it for the wrong reasons. I further told him that electing these guys as leaders told me all I needed to know about this fraternity and that I was not interested one bit. I then watched these guys recruit all the brain-dead members of my freshman class and mold them into different people. I continued being outspoken about that fraternity and they continued to try and socially bury me. Their biggest problem, was I was becoming friends with non-music majors (which happened to start with UB and added Gaz a year after.) I liked UB and Gaz because they mentally challenged me and fought back with intellect (and some poker.) One of these leaders, in particular, hated my guts. He also played tuba and I took great joy being named section leader over him as a freshman in concert band and getting to be a true section leader. He was the kind of person that, when playing the music, if it said "1 player" he would play along with me and I would stop, ask him if he could read, then ask him what "1 player" meant. He would reply that the director didn't ask it to be 1 player. He was that stupid. I decided to get back at him for his attempts to socially destroy me. His favorite part of college was being in marching band and pep band. While marching band leadership was based on seniority, pep band was based on an audition. I figured out that there were only 4 tuba (sousaphone) spots and after looking through the auditionees, I realized he was 4th best. I did what any conniving little bastard would do. I signed up and kept him out of being in the pep band. Not only was this grand, but when we went on the conference tourney trip to Cleveland, it was over spring break. We returned to a closed campus very late. Two of the members lived with this guy and offered me to stay with them overnight so I wouldn't have to drive. I accepted. When this guy found out I was staying in his house, he went apeshit and actually indirectly threatened me. I laughed even harder. He stormed out of his room where his girlfriend (who was ugly as sin) was trying to calm him down and he loudly declared I was not allowed to stay. The other two quickly came out, told them it is a 3-person residence and they both voted I could stay. When I left BSU, he was a 6th year senior and in no sight of finishing. About two years ago, I asked somebody what that guy was up to and they said he was STILL an undergrad at BSU, making him about nine years invested into his undergrad. | |

I never once said I was too good for Indiana. I am a big propentent for leaving it to get a different view of the world. This can be applied to any city or region in the U.S and likely the world.

Band drama apparently doesn't stay in just high school it carries all the way over to college. Nothing like a tuba player on a power trip, keep on fighting the good fight!

Right, but I am a much more modest man so I would never exclude you from my presence regardless of how too good I am to be doing as such.

Psychedelics are illegal not because a loving government is concerned that you may jump out of a third story window. Psychedelics are illegal because they dissolve opinion structures and culturally laid down models of behavior and information processing.

![]() Wow, this is an interesting picture to put on Facebook. The caption says, "Kaylie and Whitter getting ready for their pole-dancing careers!!" Really? After looking into it further, it was her friend's mom that put that up there. That's awesome, haha. And for those who don't know, the girl on the right would be Nubblies' own Silver and Cold. |

![]() This is my niece. My niece may one day grow to be the cutest baby in the world. Right now she is ugly as fuck and looks like an alien. I don't subscribe to this "but she's mine/my family so she's beautiful!" shit. Every baby is ugly. (EDIT: except Asian babies. They are the cutest fucking things in the world.) They have to be one of the ugliest infants in the mammalian species. I can't fucking stand why people do this shit. Should I bring this argument up to my sister? Or should I accept that it will fall on deaf ears? It's so fucking annoying and she's one of the only people on my friends list I haven't defriended for putting bullshit like this on their profile pictures. |
