I just paid my rent. It is the second fucking business day of the mother fucking month, and they already charged me a $50 late fee because rent is due the third day of the month. I guess it doesn't matter if two of the three fucking days are on the weekend. I cannot believe this shit. I pay my rent in full and on time every fucking month, and I get hit with $50 because I paid on the second business day of the month, which happens to be the fourth day of the month. I hate this apartment complex so much.
I'm going to try to raise hell and get the late fee taken off. Regardless, what can I do to hurt this apartment complex the most? Please give me ideas. |

Yea DH apartment complexes suck painfully bad. I've had a few bush-league dealings over the years. It's a shame because in theory renting an apartment is highly appealing to me but in practice is can often be a frustrating headache dealing with some shitty management company.

I was responsible and paid my bills by the 2nd business day of the month. That should have been adequate enough not to be fined $50. If I honestly felt like I was in the wrong here, I wouldn't be bitching about it. Even if this were my first and only grievance with this complex, I probably wouldn't be bitching about it.

DH: He's just saying those things to get a rise out of you. You're not in the wrong, your apartment complex is being unreasonable, although I still would be interested in hearing what the lease agreement says. Not that most lease agreements don't have bullshit in them as well.
Is it possible that rent is due on the first and the 3rd is a grace period? |

Perhaps I did fuck up, but to me it just seems like a real dickhead thing. I was one day late and they charged me $50. And one day late was the SECOND BUSINESS DAY OF THE MONTH. Fuck this apartment complex. It's a piece of shit in so many ways. This is without question the worst renting experience of my life. I am counting the fucking months till I can move (6 left).

Let me try this one more time. My rant was the culmination of eight months of shitty service and overpriced rent. I felt extremely angry when I got hit with a $50 late fee for paying one day late when it takes their maintenance a minimum of two weeks to come out and "fix" anything. I put the word fix in quotes because they don't actually fix a god damn thing. And don't even get me started on the condition of my place when I first moved in. I wasn't aware that I needed your blessing to vent about something. Next time ill be sure that I do, but in the mean time, please feel free to blow me. |
