Speaking of Al Pacino, watched Serpico the other day, a 1973 movie starring him as a whistle-blowing New York cop who uncovers a bunch of corruption in the department. Based on a true story. Really great movie released in between his roles as Michael Corleone in Godfather I and II.

I think Orgazmo will agree with me when I say that Charlie Day was a superior Serpico vs Al Pacino.

Human Centipede 2. I only enjoyed it in a comedic sense. It went WAY above and beyond the original in terms of ridiculousness.
One of the people in the centipede is pregnant. Because the crazy guy in this one isn't a doctor, he sedates them by hitting them in the head with a crowbar. He does this enough times that he thinks he kills the pregnant chick. At some point she awakens and tries to escape. As she's running towards the door, she starts giving birth. Oh and she's naked. She makes it outside and locks herself in the car, while the crazy guy is outside banging on the window. She gives birth and the baby falls on the floor. She gets the car started and crushes the baby's head under the gas pedal. So unnecessary. |

Not at all, and I didn't even do that scene remotely the justice it deserves. It's way more amazing than that.
The movie gets progressively worse (read: better) until it climaxes in a symphony of outrageousness. |

The Dictator
It's pretty much exactly what you might expect. Ridiculous nonsensical plot, lots of one-liners, etc. Overall it wasn't a masterpiece or anything but if you go into it with reasonable expectations, it's pretty enjoyable. Also it's only an hour and 20 minutes. It's rare these days to find a movie that knows when to shut the fuck up. Extra points for not dragging it out. Disclaimer: It took me a good 15 minutes to get into the right mind frame. Don't expect hilarity out of the gates; however, there are definitely some pretty funny parts. |

I saw The Avengers in 3-D. A- to the special effects, B- to the movie. I feel like these films that just bludgeon you repeatedly with gratuitous scenes of violence in between fairly limited plot/dialogue can wear you out before the movie ends.

The problem with The Avengers is that the heroes vary too much in power. It's like, yeah, there's Iron Man is flying through a worm-hole to deliver a nuke to the alien's grill, and there's Black Widow reloading her little pea shooter.
Also, Loki just isn't an intimidating or dynamic antagonist. Never once did I feel any real danger from his punk ass. |

A movie I enjoyed recently was called "Moonrise Kingdom". I did not think I needed to start a thread to say that.
Wes Anderson really goes overboard doing Wes-Anderson-y things. So if you're not into that shit, you probably won't like this movie. Also saw Prometheus yesterday, it was about the same amount of tits that I expected it to be, which is "pretty tits." |

I make bad decisions.

Thing I didn't really notice until it was mentioned to me, but almost any shot in a Wes Anderson film is pretty symmetrical, and now whenever I see the trailers I notice it immediately.
*Has never watched an entire Wes Anderson film, so has no feeling one way or another on his movies. |
